This Table lists one of the most common and standard VEM materials and its respective impurities for this purity level. The impurity elements are listed in PPM (parts per million) or ND (not detected) and total purity levels are based upon metallic impurities only. All data for metallic impurities is obtained through ICP, GDMS or other emission or Mass spectrographic analysis; data for gases is obtained by LECO method. The Purity Conversion Table is as follows:
| Purity | Level | Metallic Impurities Allowed (PPM) |
| (2N) (2N5) (3N) (3N5) (4N) (4N5) (5N) (5N5) (6N) |
99% 99.5% 99.9% 99.95% 99.99% 99.995% 99.999% 99.9995% 99.9999% |

- This Table is not a guarantee of actual or maximum impurity levels.
- It represents a compilation of actual analyzes of data accumulated over many years of manufacturing this material.
- Not all of the impurities listed in this table are normally tested for in every material lot.
- A typical ‘Certificate of Analysis’ will include only many of the “basic” impurities.
- A more comprehensive and detailed analysis for each material lot is available upon customer request.
- Material compositions and impurity levels corresponding to unique customer specifications are readily available.
This data sheet represents but one of the materials available from VEM. Numerous other single element metals and many special alloys, compounds, dielectrics, intermetallics, co-metallics, cermets, composites, and ceramics are also available, as well as other material purities.
